On a nonlinear heat equation associated with Dirichlet -- Robin conditions

This paper is devoted to the study of a nonlinear heat equation associated with Dirichlet-Robin conditions. At first, we use the Faedo -- Galerkin and the compactness method to prove existence and uniqueness results. Next, we consider the properties of solutions. We obtain that if the initial condition is bounded then so is the solution and we also get asymptotic behavior of solutions as. Finally, we give numerical resultsComment: 20 page

In our theoretical model, there exists a critical value such that firm will not invest in social capital if its saving is lower than the critical value and otherwise. Moreover, the output depends positively and non-linearly on the social capital. Our empirical model that captures the impact of physical capital, human capital, and social capital using the database from Survey of Small and Medium Scale Manufacturing Enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam 2011, confirms the conclusions of the theoretical model.

QuEChERS and C18 as solid phase extraction sorbent - ultra-high performance liquid chromatography -ultraviolet-visible method for determination of parabens in cosmetics products

Concerns are growing about human exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), especially during the preadolescent development stage. Parabens are prevalent EDCs widely used as additives in cosmetics. So, the determination of parabens in such products is important. In this study, we developed a reliable and sensitive method to determine simultaneously nine common parabens (methylparaben, ethylparaben, phenylparaben, benzylparaben, penthylparaben, and two groups of isomeric compounds include propylparaben, isopropyl paraben, and butylparaben, isobutylparaben) in cosmetics products. The QuEChERS and solid-phase extraction techniques are used for extraction parabens from non-surfactant cosmetics (perfume, mouth wash solution) and surfactant cosmetics (shampoo, cream, gel), respectively and quantified by using ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with the ultraviolet-visible detector. All nine compounds showed good linearity with regression coefficients predominantly above 0.990. The LOD and LOQ of parabens were 0.07 µg/mL; 0.2 µg/mL, respectively. The recoveries ranged from 80 to 110% with the relative standard deviations below 8%. The developed method was successfully applied to determine parabens in various commercial cosmetic products from a local supermarket and the total parabens concentrations are in a wide-ranged from 2.0 to 1270 mg/kg

Rural Poverty and Inequality Maps in Vietnam: Estimation using Vietnam Household Living Standard Survey 2006 and Rural Agriculture and Fishery Census 2006

The objective of this paper is to estimate poverty and inequality for rural Vietnam at different levels of aggregation by combining the Vietnam Household Living Standard Survey (VHLSS) from 2006 and the Rural Agriculture and Fishery Census from the same year. Using the small area estimation method, we will produce estimates at the region, province at district level, and will consider both expenditure and income based measures. It is found that all provinces across the country have experienced a noticeable reduction in rural poverty during the period 1999-2006. Some of the largest reductions in poverty are observed for provinces with poverty rates close to the national average. Also the poorest provinces are experiencing reductions in poverty, albeit at a more modest pace. Provinces and districts with a larger poverty reduction in the period 1999-2006 tend to have a lower level of inequality in 2006. Results based on expenditure poverty estimates are found to be very similar to those based on income poverty estimates.Poverty measurement, poverty mapping, agricultural census, household survey, Vietnam

Molecular phylogeny of Annonaceae species from Binh Chau-Phuoc Buu Nature Reserve based on two chloroplast gene regions

In this study, based on molecular biology techniques, the matK and trnL-F regions of ten Annonaceae species grown in Binh Chau-Phuoc Buu Nature Reserve, Vietnam were successfully amplified and sequenced for the first time. Along with other highly homologous DNA sequences from the GenBank database, the molecular phylogeny of ten studied species was also established. By using the alignment tool of NCBI database, the percentage of identity among sequences of studied species was also presented. The study aims to partially contribute to the further understanding of the evolutionary relationships among Annonaceae species
